I’m a proud Cornishman with a passion for my county and the wonderful views and scenes we’re blessed with day to day. My photo-realistic style grew out of my training in illustration at Falmouth School of Art and Design, followed by a career in London and Australia. Since returning home to Cornwall, I’ve split my time between my two favourite subjects — seascapes and yachting.

My yacht paintings are auctioned at Christie’s in London as part of their maritime sales, and I’ve been fortunate to be given three front covers on their maritime auction catalogues — including a front-and-back jacket for my America’s Cuppainting, the only time this has ever been allowed, and a double-page inside-cover spread of my Mariquita – Pendennis Cup. Each autumn I exhibit with my London gallery, Rountree Tryon, in their annual maritime exhibitions, and I’m represented in the US by the Russell Jinishian Gallery. Closer to home, my work is shown at Fowey River Gallery and a host of Cornish venues.

More and more, my focus has turned to the incredible scenes and views of Cornwall itself. I’m fascinated by the nuances of light — how it shifts from minute to minute with the time of day, the weather, the seasons and the tides — and my simple aim is to do justice to the beauty that keeps drawing people back to this county year after year.
